Quality Assurance
European Union Reference Laboratory for Marine Biotoxins (EURLMB), under the
Spanish Food Safety and Nutrition Agency (AESAN) works under the accreditation
of the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC), according to the
International Standard ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence
of testing and calibration laboratories”.
The EURLMB has developed a Quality Management System in accordance with this
Standard and, at the same time, based on a EURLMB’s management commitment with
good professional practice. The general aims of such System are the
following:
- To fulfil the requirements of the European Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025, as
required by Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the
Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the
verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal
welfare rules (or the following Regulations concerned).
- To set up and support the activities described in the Quality System
documents, aimed at the production of consistent and reliable results and the
continuous improvement of activities.
- To demonstrate the technical competence of the EURLMB (including their
staff, methodologies and test/calibration equipments) as required by ISO/IEC
17025 by means of maintaining the accreditation from a recognized Accreditation
Body.
