Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules.
1) SUBJECT MATTER
To carry out official controls to prevent, eliminate or reduce to acceptable levels risks to humans and animals, either directly or through the environment; and guarantee fair practices in feed and food trade and protect consumer interests.
2) ACT
Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules.
Additionally to this norm, in case of products of animal origin, applies the Regulation (EC) No 854/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 laying down specific rules for the organisation of official controls on products of animal origin intended for human consumption.
3) ALCON COMPUTER APPLICATION
The Competent Authorities of the Public Administration, and the Competent Authorities of the Regional Communities, have access to the ALCON computer application for entering all data corresponding to official controls conducted on food products in their region, and for updating the National Food Chain Official Control Plan.
