Informative Breakfast at the Madrid Press Association

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) and the National Consumer Institute (INC) have held an informative breakfast today with the media at the head offices of the Madrid Press Association, to discuss the new Regulation on Food Information to Consumers.

The Conference was inaugurated in the morning by the Executive Director of AESAN, Ángela López de Sá, who underlined that mutual cooperation was crucial for achieving accreditation objectives and responding to the demands of official control and the coordination work of AESAN, highlighting the continuous improvement of the quality of analyses and the effect this has on food safety.

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) had the chance to share their experiences on different types of everyday activities with a group of food company communications managers.
The subjects covered were related to Alert Networks systems at European, Rapid Alert System (RASFF), and national levels, Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange, and the dynamics concerning AESAN guidelines related to Risk Communication.

Organised jointly by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition and the National Consumer Institute. The subject discussed was Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on the provision of food information to the consumer.
At the end of the Conference the consumer associations represented by the Council had the chance to raise different questions with the speakers.
